Hey guys, my girlfriend gave me a Sony Xplode for free so I figured I may as well hook it up. Well, I bought the sony wiring harness (needed it) and the guy threw me a Honda/Acura wiring harness, to adapt to the current one. I connected every wire from the sony harness to the stock harness, and plugged the stock harness into the existing plug (that would go into the stock deck). I still get no power at all! I grounded it and all…anybody have any ideas? Is that little plug needed that goes in the back of the deck? It’s missing, but she would have given me that too…do Sony’s require it? I don’t think it’s that though…somebody please help! Any, and all help is very much appreciated!
All you need to do to make sure it works is find out which wire is power, which wire is ground and which wire is ignition(power).Take the two power wires and attach them together and take the ground wire and attach the ground to the ground on the battery and attach to two power wires to the power on the battery, it it doesn’t light up something is wrong.After you determine that it works make sure all the wiring is right when you put it back in the car.hope this helps
If you put your stock deck back in, does it still work? If not, check your fuses (both inside your car and the fuses under your hood).
I installed an Explod deck in a friends 92 Dakota, and it immediately blew the fuse under his hood. We fixed it by changing the stock 10 amp fuse to a 15 amp one.
If this isn’t the problem, did the deck work before she gave it to you?
