Help!! Steering wheel Vibrates when brakeing

Steering wheel vibrates while brakeing…??

What do i need to replace to stop the vibrateing on the steering wheel?

Is the brakes warped?

Need new brakes?

i thought the vibrating was a characteristic of the abs under harsh braking… my mom’s car has always done it… as has mine… but only under harsh braking

you should get your brake discs resurfaced. with time they get irregular due to extensive heat and they would have a run-out on the surface. this is why it vibrates only when you are breaking. by the way there is a service limit for them under which you should replace them instead of resurfacing those.
standard brake disc thickness : .35 in.
service limit. 31 in.

the steering wheel should not vibrate when you brake if its the ABS system working… You should feel the pedal vibrate but not the steeering wheel

it sounds like your rotors could be warped… or it could be your wheels are out of balance… my g/f prelude did that and she got brand new tires balanced and aligned… the problem went away…

It is most likely the front rotors. They are warped. You can try to machine them.I find that if the rotors get warped ,replaced them and the pads. You will get much better performance and longer life out of the pads and rotors.Your rotor needs the thickness to help disipate the heat .When you machine them you will lesson the rotors ability to get rid of that unwanted heat. Also make sure that when you get it done that the wheels nuts are tighten to spec and tighten the nuts in a 1,3,2,4 order to make sure that the wheel meets evenly with the hub.

rotors are warped.
machine them and get new pads.

Thanks fellaz for the help… much appreciated
