Help w/ Enclosure and System Plz!

Im building a custom ported box for my Integra, and was wondering if anyone has the measurements for the hatch. In this, I mean the measurements for the WHOLE hatch to be a box. It would be greatly appreciated. I will be running a 9515 powered by a shredder. Also, has anyone had any luck with their electrical systems and 1500 watts? What did you do to beef it up, any suggestions and directions? Please help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The best thing to do is get out a measuring tape and break the area down into geometric shapes. Then you should be able to figure out how big a box you will get. Don’t worry about not being precise.

I’d say get it installed first and see if there is a problem or not. With as big a box you are using, your amp probably won’t be turned up all the way. Or are you planning on competing?

As a hint, you will probably gain a lot of SPL by replacing seals and sound deadening your entire vehicle. If you can keep the air in and reduce the body flexing, you will gain quite a few dB’s. Install is king for output.

Thanks, I will probably be competing but will be pushing the full 1500 watts to it daily. Does anyone have electrical system hints, tips, and experiences?

Great choice for the sub. I myself have two 3510’s in a 4.5 ft.^3 box. I am pushing 1200 watts all day every day and don’t have a problem untill i feel like pushing them pretty good while driving, then when I stop and go at stop signs and lights, that’s when I can tell that i lose power. My box goes from speaker to speaker across and then from the seat to about the speakers again. I would love to see your finished product. What do you plan on tuning it to. I have mine at 33hz and it sounds great. Good Luck.

Your amp doesn’t always put out 1200 watts. You just proved it based on what you said above. In fact, even when you really turn it up, I doubt you are quite at 1200 watts. At normal listening levels, you are probably quite a bit less than half that.

If I remember correctly, if you double the power, you get a 3 dB gain. That is a just barely audible difference, with a 600 watt difference in power. I’m sure you notice a large difference in output when you really turn it up to it’s peak.

yes, you are correct. I guess I should have said that when I turn it up I am getting around 800-900 watts running and you can feel the power loss, but then when I burp all my power is gone and my rpms drop down to about 2-300 rpms i believe.

What you said about doubling the power and a 3dB gain, I think you got it mixed up a little. I THOUGHT (not sure) that it is if you add another sub the same size you get the 3dB increase.
Anyway, hope to hear back from you, been away from the game a while.:frowning:

what ever u do DO NOT turn the gains on the d2 up leave them at minimun… also do not put normal sound deadner in your car… if u can just try put something realy stiff in the places ware air will escape from… if u sound deadn your hole vehicle with 2 layers of deadner u will lower your res fq, if u are in it for the spl u want the highest res fq u can get…
:naughty:

Thanks a lot guys. Does anyone have around 1500 watts running with little to no dimming and have some tips on beefing up my electrical system?

i had my crx running one d2 and at full volume thare was some major dimming but when i had it at resonable listning levels it was pretty good, that was with stock eletrical…

u should be fine with a red top and some nice 0gauge power wire, also run 2 0gauge wires off the negative side of the batt terminal, and same for the ground on the valve cover…

damn a beast and a shredder eh

youre gonna burp it everyday? i doubt it! ok well maybe the first few days/weeks

No, but I will pushing it at 1500 watts. Does anyone have any electrical system tips?
