ok so i installed my 4 door rear handles… got them to work fine… but for some reason when i lock my doors i can’t unlock them without messing with them for a few mins or sometimes i just have to put a lot of force on the lock mechinism… not sure if its a door handle realative question or not… but its been a 3 year long project so i never had to lock them. and one of the door lock system i just got out of a junk yard… maybe they are siezed. but i lubed them up before i installed them…
Try This… Roll you windows all the way down and see if you have the same problem. When I did mine the rod was touching the window on the drivers side when it was rolled up and gave me the same problem. If this is the case then you’ll need to bend the rod slightly to clear the window.
It is also possible that the outside handle might not be pushing the rod down far enough to push the latch down all the way. With the door panel off lift the outside handle and hold it up. While holding the outside handle up pull the inside handle and see if the latch moves down further. If the inside handle pushes the latch down farther than the outside handle thats the problem. you need to take the rod off the outside handle and adjust that threaded peice on the end higher up, this will give the rod the length it needs to push it down far enough.
