I recently purchased some used GC coilovers and am wondering:
Is it supposed to “lock” the perches with an allen wrench? Or is it supposed to be loose and then once the weight of the car is lowered, it will be tightened?
Help me out here! Because when i totally tightened the thingies on the side with an allen wrench, I could still turn it easily!
Once you have set the spring seats at the desired height, you should tighten the allen bolt to secure the seats. Even tho the weight of the car should keep the seats from spinning, you should always lock them is place to avoid the unlikelyhood that they would shift when you drive or when the car is lifted.
Your spring seats still spin after you tighten the allen bolts? That’s odd. Mines stay pretty solid even if I barely tighten them. Are you sure the theaded collar isn’t spinning also?
Well I haven’t installed them yet. 
Anyhow, i tried them and they still spin after tightening them up. Do you think it is unsafe to drive with them untightened even though the weight of the car will keep them from moving?
