nice… 28+ views and nobody can help…
you have a few option’s
if you have a rear upper strut tower brace you can secure it to that
if is angled the right way you could screw it into the back of the seats using L brackets
or you could use plywood and make a solid floor to replace the plastic piece covering the spare tire and secure it to that using L brackets.
If you had give a little more detail about the size and shape of your box you might have gotten a few more reply’s.
be patient and all will be answered
If you are after maximum bass, face the sub towards the rear of the hatch, two ‘L’ brackets will secure it. One on either side, of the box. Aiming it towards the rear will increase your sub bass by roughly 2dB which is heaps of free bass:) If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to ask.
yeah the best position is for it to be aimed at the rear. if the rear of the box is angled the same as the rear seat-backing, you could simply remove the speaker and screw the box to the rear seat. with it resting on the bottom of course…
put the speaker back in and BAMM no ugly L brackets to be seen… =). jus an idea.
thanks… maybe I’ll try the plywood floor… I’ve always hated the plastic floor we have in our trunks… damn, I guess this means I will be adding more weight to my car.
Good Idea, however, when you put the seats down, it puts stress on the wires. My hatch is fully decked out, so you cannot see the brackets, or any mounting hardware for that matter.
Plywood, wil do the job nicely, use thin wood and keep the weight down, my system has added 150KGS to my TEG, all bad. But is looks totally awesome, so its ok
up towards the hatch or towards the rear in a trunk. securing just takes some imagination
