My sunroof was OK until few days ago. Opening and closing just fine. All of a sudden, it still opens OK, but it will not close by itself. I have to use a lot of force (while holding down close button) to push it back and sometimes, last 2-3 inches it closes OK.
I have a feeling as there is a lot of friction between the glass and sliders, don’t see anything stuck there, tried to lube it with WD40, but no luck. Any suggestions? Thank you guys.
had a similar problem with a sunroof on a civic. I just cleaned out the tracks really well and then applied a lot of grease to them. Works really well now.
The way I cleaned the tracks was by opening the sunroof as far as I possibly could. The style of the sunroof on the teg may be different than the one on the civic I fixed. My teg doesn’t have a sunroof so I’m really not sure. Anyway, I used the switch to get it to slide back as far as possible. Then I sprayed wd-40 in the tracks and used a rag to basically wipe everything down. THen I just got some multi-purpose grease and applied liberally to the tracks. I did all of this with the sunroof open. After that I used the switch to close it. It works really good now. The friction from it sliding on the tracks is apparently enough to stop it from working pretty much altogether… so as soon as the grease was on there it worked great.
