Helps me out ASAP please

I was driving home and somehow the clutch got stuck it wont let me shift at all. the clutch feels really soft, what do I do???
thanks

when was the last time it was replaced cause it sounds like its about that time again

I havent change the clutch sinceI got the teg 3 years ago. but the problem now is, I got it with the B17A with LS tranny, now if I decide to get the YS1 tranny (if I find one) I have to replace the clutch again right? any other tranny that uses the same clutch as the 91 LS or something like that I’m  now. How about the XSI’s tranny. any info will help me a lot thanks

damn isnt your car hella slow with ls tranny on?

not really

check to see if the cable is binding.

maybe the cable is loose?

It sounds like your clutch just went out on you. Time for a new one.
As far as clutches go. The 90-91 tegs have a different clutch than the 92-93 tegs. So, a clutch off of a 92-93 LS would work on the GSR and vice versa, but the clutch from the 90-91 wont work on anything newer than that due to the input shaft on the tranny…
The first gen b16a tranny will work with the 90-91 clutch though. Those are the S1, J1, Y1. All of those are JDM.

Like sir rev alot and Ryan suggested, try adjusting your clutch cable first. I doubt that will do anything since your clutch has been good and broken in since it has been on for so long.
Good luck though.

Thanks…

Thank you guys for helping me out, I checked the cable and it was fine, I had to tow the car to the shop, they called me back and said that I need a new clutch :frowning: . so I explained about the B17 and 91 ls tranny, and they said that would be no prob. It’s just gonna cost me around 500-600 bucks:bawl:
BR: So the B16A (s1,j1.Y1) are like the YS1? I mean on shifting and all that.

Yeah, they are really close, but there are still a little bit of differences on them. I perfer the YS1 over all the other ones I listed but if you want to use a 91 clutch on your next tranny then those will be your only options.
If you go to www.bseries.net you will find the b-series tranny gearing guide. It will tell you the ratios and everything you need to know about each tranny.
