About a month a ago I failed my emissions test. The only part I failed was the NOx ppm. I took it today and passed with ease. I only changed one thing:
This will pass the NOx ppm part of the emission.
My previous score was 1349, to pass i had to have less than 950. heres how. Snatch off your intake, and slap a sock on that mutha. Dropped my score from 1349 to 340. Take a sock and put it over you throttle. make sure you tighten it down with clamps or something. Depending on how far off you failed you might wanna slap 2 socks on that bytch.
Yup, here is cali if they see anything other then the stock stuff…you’ll fail visual. They usually let something go by, but a sock as an intake…don’t think so.
hehe hate to be :gay: but does that mean a sock inside your intake? or you mean just a darn sport sock attached to your mani, because i dunno whether the tech would laugh to death that you had a sock on your mani, or pass you for making him laugh so hard
If you mean put socks inside your intake attached along with the piping, I could see that as a viable tip.
Nox is basically combustion chamber temp , the higher the Nox the higher the temp. If your car is a non egr integra (5spd) then your probably runnin lean which will cause the combustion chamber temps to rise and Nox follows . Putting the sock over the int. prolly just restricted air reducing the leaning affect. i just ran mine through emissions and it was at 343ppm.
the mechanic seen me fail before a couple of times so he was glad to see me pass, and then when i told him what i did he laughed but also took it in to consideration. In GA, they dont care what you got under the hood so long as you spittin clean air out.
And yeah you put the sock over your throttle. It filters out more than any filter, well I put 2 socks on to make sure. It was a silly idea but damnit i’m ridin legally now
