hesitation problem

The car has been doing this for some time and ive been using the search button to help me out. It stumbles/looses power under 4K. Doesnt matter if is cold or warm. To try and fix this problem ive replaced the following parts:

New OEM fuel filter
New NGK spark plugs gapped to .044
New OEM cap & rotor
New OEM timing belt, (old one was loose and stretched)
New water pump
New thermostat
Double checked my static timing and ignition timing, (distributor is positioned in the middle)
Also did a complete coolant flush with honda coolant

I hope someone can help me out. Ive been going back and forth wondering if it might be a HG issue. Any input wld be great, thx in advance.

Well, if you think it may be a HG issue… do a compression and leakdown test. That will give you an idea of the overall health of your motor.

Your TPS could cause a stumbling issue though.

no codes?

well do you have a CEL? it sounds like a sensor like tps or map. are you at WOP (wide open throtl) when it loses power? hows the idle?

nope, no codes… the only reason im not thinking its a TPS is cuz it doesnt “slam” u into the dash kind of stumble… its a slight loss of power kinda thing. Idles great, also forgot to add i just did a fresh valve lash on sunday. Oh, and it does it under part throttle… sumtimes WOT.

I say TPS if its bad or going bad i will just loose what feels like torque. i wont slamm you a slamm is more likelly from timing issues n you seem to have that on lock i say get a blox TPS ther like 40$ n ther real good. n also a TPS goin bad wont give u a CEL

never thought about that really… Thx a bunch, i kinda wanna buy a OBD1 LS throttle body. That way i can use the hondata MAP sensor when i go boost. thx again

you welcome. if your gna change throttle for boost i would just get a aftermarket like a 72mm just sayn lol but if u on a budget i feel you lol

before u buy a tps use an oscilloscope on the tps by back probing it u should get voltage between .5v and 4.5v no higher and no less the graph line should have no breaks in it while you open the throttle plate slower just go to a friendly shop and ask for a quick test outside
