Hey just would like to know opinions about the swap, any info from experience, aswell as possible difficulties of doing the swap. Oh and would it mount up or is the driverside mount different? and i would have to use the ls intake manifold and not the b20 short one? thanks
i have a B20B for my 91 rs. the motor was orginally droped in the cheap way(not by me). they reused basicly everything and bolted it to the LS tranny. To directly answer your ? no a B20B isnt difficult at all. basicly all a B20 is, is a bored out B18 from honda. if you look at 98% of the other parts for a b20 they are b18 goods, only diff is b20 is 84mm bore.
so difficulty, that kinda depends on your knowledge. have you ever done a swap before? do you understand what your looking at under the hood? all these things will play into how rough the swap is to you. I had a good friend help me whos swaped more b-series then ive ever touched so pulling the motor out(currently being built), only took us about 3-4hrs. that may seem like a good bit of time, but i know if i did it alone with just the honda engine building guide i have would have taken all day easy. biggest advice i can give you. find a knowledgeable friend, that will walk you through it. it will get done faster and more than likely they can explain stuff to you in a way that youll remember. good luck with your swap!
