HI G2IC my 91 LS-S DD project

Hello G2IC!
Well I finally gave into my buddy (DallasMotors) persistence of talking me into buying a 'teg. So on my birthday of last year I picked up with 91 black LS-S with 244,xxx miles on it. NO RUST or body damage what-so-ever, just faded paint on roof and hood. Interior was in desperate need of some cleaning. Seeing as how it was just gonna be my project car, I really didn’t pay much attention to it at first. Sadly we had a horrible tornado and it took my DD '02 Focus SVT:mad:. So instead of paying $10,000 to fix it I let the insurance take it and started up with 'teg.

Since the shocks/struts were blown on all four corners and bald tires, I picked up a set of Tokico Illuminas and Sprint springs, with 4 new Falkens. Just to make my engine sound more “cool” and to up my MPG a tad, I added a SRI.

So after putting all this stuff on, a full detail inside and out and driving it around for a few months, I figured out why everyone likes 'tegs. So my ‘teg has turned into my DD and lovin’ every minute of it!

Since my motor is with 255k miles now, I figured it was time to get a new one. So I ordered up a b20b with a P8R head , a Blox Intake Manifold with the help of DallasMotors from HMotorsonline. The new motor should be coming shortly and in the car, along with fresh coat of B-92P NIGHTHAWK BLACK PEARL, all hopefully within the next few months.

I have future plans for the 'teg, but that will come at a later post.
Thanks for having a look at my work in progress.

Yeah, not only do they look similar to gsr blades, they are pretty uncommon. I haven’t seen any others like them.

nice to see another ls special welcome

Good choice on the motor. Should be looking sweet after new paint job.

Yeah, that guy…want to smack him sometimes :werd:

I’m so stoked to get it that b20 in! Tired of my car being old and full of slowness

so i was thinking of getting a b20b too. only for 795 no tax in oregon.

My only concern is that if i get a b20b non vtec is it gonna make alot of difference than my stock b18a1? Alot of people are telling me not to get it but i just want a faster motor for now till i get more money for an ls vtec. or maybe i can turn my b20b to a vtec./
idk man let me know what it feels like on your car

thank

In my opinion the b20b will be overall better than a b18a stock for stock (better torque band). I would personally choose to go b20 vtec over LSvtec, my reasoning is that the b20b has more torque than the b18 and from my research, I have seen CRvtecs take better than LSvtecs. They usually have about the same HP with similar modifications (valves, springs, rods, pistons and so forth). The torque is where I personaly liked the b20 over the b18. So yeah I will definitely give my opinion on how the b20b will stand up next to my b18. Keep in mind that my b18 has over 1/4 of a million miles.

Thanks, I need all the luck I can get to see this done with as little of foul ups as possible. :stuck_out_tongue:
