HID conversion experts - few questions.

I’ve got a set HID ballasts with ignitors from a Nissan 350z, and Acura TL bulb. See pictures.

The ballast still have the original connectors connected from the car with wires being cut so someone could just connect/tie to another car. My question is on the wires that are cut (seen in the picture). Where does the green wire go to? And where does the black wire go to on our Integras? I have JDM one pieces, they have THREE wires on the headlight loom connecting to them. Which wire do I not use on that loom?

Will I have to do anything to my one piece plastic lens for them to shine right? Do I add a glare guard inside?

is it just low beam right??..if so then you have to connect the green wire to the top connector of the H4H connector and the black to ground on the right side of the connector…the point of view im talking about is lets say when you are looking at the connector the pins on the light socket are in front of you not the black back portion of the connector…hope that helps

the bulbs will have to be installed in the perfect position, if it sits too far in/too far out/to much to the left/too much to the right, output is going to be garbage. so you have to get it just right, down to the hair. also, that HID bulb that u have is a D2S bulb, so that means you’re gonna get the most FREAKIN’ glare possible. FYI, D2S bulbs are designed for projectors headlights, and D2R are designed for reflector bowl headlights…so you got the wrong bulb.

also, trying to make that D2S bulb fit in the headlight bulb fixture is gonna be tricky, let me assure you, trimming will have to be involved. to get it to seat far enough inside the housing.

my suggestion is, sell your HID kit, and buy a plugNplay kit, or do a retro-fit!!!

Reminds me, i saw a G2 today merging on the 5 South around 4:30 PM with HIDs in stock reflectors…pretty bad, doesnt seem they did anything in terms of aiming.

Mine has illegal pnp kit too, but at least I aimed mine down as far as they go and made some ghetto glare blockers. They actually do a pretty decent job.

or you just can do this…

…i just feel like showing them off.

Nice car, nice look.

What parts are the main parts needed in retro-fitting? I’ve seen so many variations.

Are my ballasts and ignitors useless for my application? Or can they be used in a retro fit?

you already have the ballast and D2S bulbs…all you need is the projectors now.

db1st are you rocking EK sideskirts with a OEM front lip?? if so i think me and you are twin cars lol. Btw where can u get the fog lights for the 90-91 integra??

nope…CD6(94-97 Accord) sideskirts, and it is an OEM front lip but…off of an 88-89 integra. foglights are from Wal-Mart believe it or not. how are our cars twins? don’t you have a blue metallic 2dr?

My vote is for a retrofit too since you already have almost all the parts. If you want a simple retrofit I would recommend the miniD2s projector. you can get them at theretrofitsource.com.

i 2nd that vote…super cheap, but GOOD quality projectors. im in the process of installing those in my older brother’s silverado.

Make the extra effort and do a retrofit. I personaly love my one pieces with HIDs and retrofit.

The really nice thing about the mini H1 and mini D2S projectors is that they are a very easy to install, plug-n-play projector. They make the difficult part about a retrofit very simple for even a beginner. I personally prefer the mini D2S because of the ability to use oem bulbs (which you already have) instead of using kit bulbs which are very hit and miss when it comes to quality. The output shots I’ve seen though, seem to show that the mini H1 is a little bit better performing projector than the mini D2S. Either way, I recommend a retrofit to anyone who wants to use HIDs.
