so i recently bought an HID kit and it was really easy to install (plug and play)
well now, i recently notice that my high beam light is on in my speedometer. and when i try to turn on my high beams my HID turns off. but my foglights are still on.( usually they turn off when high beams are on)
am i running my HID’s on high beam or did i wire it up wrong?
thank you.
easiest way to find out is to get a multimeter and check the wiring. check which lead gets 12v with the low beams on and the other should be with the high beams on.
and are you sure the fog light turns off when you turn on your high beams? or is it because the brightness of the high beams washes out the fog lights…?
With aftermarket HID kits I am 95% sure you didn’t get the BI-Xenons which will allow low and high beams. You more then likely got a regular Xenon kit which continues to give low beam. But i’m not sure what could be your problem where the high beam indicator remains on. what kind of headlights are you running?
You low and high beam are wired backwards. that is why when the hids are on with the high beam light the fogs are off but when you turn the low beams on the fogs are on cause that is the only time they get power. Check the wires and move the power for your hids to the low beam wire. Not sure of which color it is but thaat will fix it.
im using REUSS HID kit.
ohh yeah found out im missing a relay kit.
DarkDB1- do you have HID’s on your car? if so you can check out my hids i live like 15mins away from you i think. if you know how to rewire and stuff.
-thanks for the help guys.
