HID Question

ok honestly dont know much about hid it something i havent gotten into till now but i have a set of projectors and want to buy hids how do they work when you buy them they come with 2 bulbs do them bulbs work for high and low beam or just one of them if so which one:) ty sorry bout newb question:P

What? :english:

Add a period in there so people can actually understand what your trying to ask.

What ever bulb the projectors use for low beam will determine what hid kit you will get. Pretty simple.

most kits come with a single beam kit, which is already illegal for us because it eliminates the hi-beams.

You have to get a hi/lo kit if you want highs. also projectors use different methods for high beams. I know on BMWs they have motors that turn the shield to allow more light.

so basically, you wont have high beams regardless.

the headlights have h1/h3 bulbs i belive the h1 is low and h3 is high im guessing i havent looked yet

Which projectors do you have, can you post a pic of them??? if you have the angel eyes(halos) then it uses H3 only. The High beam is in a separate housing all together so you dont need to buy the dual kits. I added HID’s to my black angel eye projectors. it is NOT Plug and Play with these lights. It took me a few hours on each light to modify the housing and bulb seat for it to fit. HID Bulbs are longer cause the filiment goes to in through the top of the bulb making it longer than a standard H3 bulb. It will touch the small reflector in the housing without modification.

what kind of projectors are these? from your OP i thought you were talking of a retrofit.

usually, get the one for your application, it should come with a wire-harness for your original bulb socket (to give the signal to switch on), then a 2nd lead to the battery.
