from what Ive read the bulb make the cut off beam not the headlight assembly
so here is my question could i just sand the inside of the lens to make it clear to get rid of the scatter and not install or retrofit a projector in to the housing or does the projector make it more direct light
The projector is what make the cut off so sharp and distributes the color if you sand off the dlutes it wont place the light very well just use it as is or get projectors
i could see where you would get that idea from but no… its 2 different types of technology.
a bulb first of all generally emits light 360 degrees… with the exception of some bulbs. so alone a bulb cannot generate a beam pattern. almost always a bulb is paired up with some sort of reflector optics for it to work.
for instance a flashlight… a bulb alone just emits light but the reflector bowl concentrates it.
the type of headlights we use on our DAs uses lens optics… the fluted lenses on the headlights disperse the light horizontally and vertically. if you take off the headlight lens off with the headlights on you’ll notice your beam pattern changes.
the newer technology which use the clear lenses have reflector optics… if you noticed on those headlights the reflector bowl have many facets (its not one smooth bowl like ours)… that is what helps create the beam pattern on those headlights.
and to answer your last question… projectors are always better than the rest
you can see when a car with HID projectors, it lights up the whole road, beam width & pattern, cutoff, etc.
projector>hid kit>halogen
I think your best option is to retrofit some quality projectors in there and you will not regret it. :read:
thanks a lot guys and i one more question
i have a xentec hid kit 9004-6000k could i just buy these projector (see link)

well im not sure about the quality of those but if you want the best light output then i would look into some tsx or s2k projectors. I retrofitted some A6 projectors in my ebay one pieces and its excellent and puts out plenty of light for me.
