High Pass Filter

I have a Pioneer deck and am installing a sub. I want to run only migh lows to the sub and only my highs to the 6.5" speakers. How do I go about doing this.

Are you amplifying both the sub and the 6.5’s? Usually the amplifiers have built in crossovers on them. Otherwise you will have to use an outboard crossover, unless the head unit has one built in. Some do.

Pioneer? chances are they will ahve built in seperate crossover features. just enable HPF on 50 or 80 or 100 if you want.

the best thing to do is put the woofer low pass at 80 cycles and lower and the highs at 125 cycles and higher. You are missing out on a small part of your frequency band, but the benefit is you’re not asking a part of your system to do something that could potentially harm the product. If you are willing to spend a little more to fine tune the setup, thats another story- but with the product you have that is my reccomendation.
