Hissing noise?!

I just installed my cold air intake friday and haven’t notice any thing before. But i just came home like 2 mins ago and when i stopped the engine and got out i heard a hissing noise. thinking it was a flat i checked, sure enough it wasn’t. It was something coming from in the engine. from what i could tell(since it was dark) it isn’t coming from the intake, but near it. Anyone have a clue what could be going wrong?

Does your car have ABS? I have the same problem and I believe it’s the ABS. I’m not sure what part is leaking though. I have a problem with the ABS light coming on once in awhile so in my case I’m pretty sure thats where the hissing noise is coming from.
I think it might be the ABS accumulator leaking. Maybe somebody has more info or can clarify?

Well, 1.7NA I think it could be the ABS. Couple of days ago my abs light did come on. Didn’t come on for a couple of days and then it did come on again. What should i get checked out on my car?

It’s normal. It’s the Intake. I have the same thing. I think someone brought this up before. It acutally sounds kind of cool.

is it almost like a loud wheeze? like right after you kill the car? cuz i have that & was wondering what it is.

I know the intake noise, but in my situation, the hissing noise sounds more like a slow leak from a tire (just like what Daitokuji described) You can hear this “hissing” for about 30-45 secs after the car shuts down and it’s more of a faint hissing noise. That’s why I’m thinking it not the intake since Daitokuji said it sounded
like a tire leak

Daitokuji, I don’t know if your hissing noise last that long, but to me, I would think that intake noise is more like a vacuum noise than a hissing noise. One thing to try is to shut your car down, pop the hood and listen around the ABS unit, if it’s the ABS you will hear a hissing sound from it (in my situation, it’s actually about 1 foot down from the ABS pump) pretty sure by the time you shut down your car, reach down to pop your hood, and get out, the intake noise will be gone.
