I’m looking at getting the HKS HI-Power exhaust and want to know if anyone has problems scraping the muffler because it’s angle mounted. I have a 1.8" drop on my 92’ RS
now i might be wrong but i believe it runs under the rear suspension which in your case may mean some scraping but careful driving can avoid that. it will obviously be lower than your stock exhaust or any other exhaust for that matter…but do it best looking exhaust imo
Besides the HKS and RS*R exhausts, are there any other good non rice sounding exhausts that don’t have sideways mounted muffler/tips.
Thermal, from what all the owners say it sounds awesome and looks clean.
I have Tein H techs and an HKS hi power and i dont scrape the muffler ever even on speed bumps. I do happen to scrape my resonator on the passenger side of the car. It s in the middle of the car that gets touched when i go over speed bumps.
Awesome exhaust I recommend it 100%
Does the piping for the HKS Hi power run under the rear suspension and is it noticeable when you look at the car from the side; and does the tip come out straight or a bit off to the side. I’ve also heard that it can make your bumper black, is this true?
The exhaust does not run under the LCA. The piping goes the same as the factory piping.
i have one and it is quite possibly the best exhaust you can buy for it, that clean angle look is so sweet and there is no snapping or raspiness even when i was all motor. get it you wont be dissapointed, cmon its HKS how can you question it?
Sweet, thanks for the pics man
Would it Come out as an angle? or would it be straight Im trying to find a exhaust that comes out to an angle without having to modify it…thanks.
If you are looking for an angled exhaust HKS is the best. It is one of the few that come with an angled muffler and tip without having to mod it.
comes out at an angle.
i have an rs*r exmag gt2 and it actually has more clearence than you would think plus sounds pretty damn nice. not at all ricey. little loud though for highway driving.
Is there any kind of spray-on rust proofing that will work on the ceramic piping of the HKS hi-power, because rust is my biggest concern. I’m assuming that the spray would have to be heat resistant. With the amount of salt they put on the roads around here, i’m sure the ceramic piping would’nt last long
I think im leaning toward going with the hks too…the only other i probably would chose would be the thermal. I’ve got the greddy now and in my opinion it’s just a lil bit too quite.
Could you post some pics please? trying to decide between the HKS and the gt2 but was worried about clearance also.
Here is a pic of HKS Hi-power and the RSR GTII. Both at stock height
Cool thanks, wish the RSR had a lil more clearance. I think it would hit when I go through the burnout box here. Trying to find a decent exhaust lol.
