hole in the front bumper for license plate

how do i cover those 2 holes in the front bumper for the license plate holder on a 90-91 bumper.i put a license plate relocator and now theres 2 holes in there i wanna patch.

If you wanna patch up those holes the first thing you gotta know is what type of plastic your bumper cover is. Take it off and look on the inside for a marking like PP,TPO,TEO, PU, and a honda or acura marking. If it has none of these then your cover is a jober piece not oem and made of a shit mix of plastics…translation=good luck getting anything to stick. Your best bet in any case is to try to get a small piece of the same type of plastic (cut from an inside tab of your bumper or a junkyard bumper) get Fusor #142,Fusor #114, Fusor #602 conversion coating, and a roll of SEM reinforcing mesh. If you have an autobody supply store or autoparts store close they will probably have it. The #142 is a 2 part adheisive(you need a special cocking gun for it) used on the back of the bumper with the mesh tape, #114 is a 2 part finishing adheisive for the front and it comes with a little plunger so you don’t need anything to make it work, and the conversion coating is used to prep the area you will be using the #142 in. The #142 says that you can use it as a finishing product as well but don’t believe it. When you sand it you create heat that draws the oils from the plastic up and lifts the #142. Use it on the backside only where you don’t need to sand it. Wash the bumper with non wax soap and water, sand the areas (front and back)all around the holes and up to about 2-3inches away from them making sure to do a lot of sanding (if you are using a Duel action sander use it at slow speed, if you are doing it by hand don’t worry about it ) in the holes and around the edges to make a taper. When you are done sanding, the area should look fuzzy and dry not shiney. Sand your little inserts the same way. If you couldn’t get inserts then you gotta do it a little different. Start at the back and spray a thin even coat of the #602 conversion coat on it and include your inserts. Let that flash off for 15-20mins DON’T START EARLY. Put masking tape over the holes in the front and the inserts in the back. Put a piece of mesh over the back of the holes. Now use the #142 over the mesh. Use lots pushing it into the holes and spreading it all across the area you sanded to provide a solid anchor. The #142 will harden up in 1.5 mins so try to be fast. After 1.5 mins you can remove the masking tape on the front. Wait another 10-15 mins before starting the front. Flip the bumper over and sand any #142 you see with 100 grit until its not shiney and the front surface is not higher than the rest of the bumper cover. Now use your #114 to finish it off. You will have about 2-3min to work it in to the area before it hardens and don’t sand it until you let it sit about 20mins. Do your finish sanding in 150 grit sand paper then give it to a body shop to paint. If you have no inserts to put in the holes then do all the prep the same but when you start to use the #142 put masking tape on the front, fill up the holes with the #142, then put the mesh on, then put on lots more #142 and spread it around. You’ll have to be really fast if you do that and the repair won’t be as strong. You can finish it all the same way. I know its kind of expensive to have to buy a cocking gun and all that just to use this stuff but you can glue anything together with this stuff and it is flexible so it has a million uses. Sorry for the long ass post.

good stuff body guy. Thanx as i needed this info too.

If you’re just trying to fill the hole you could go to your local honda/acura dealership or any dealership and ask for the little paintable license plate hole inserts for like $10. My friend left them black on his black honda and they look fine.
