bought these from lowes for 10 bucks for 2. they are rain gutter i think
. i had to measure and figure out how long they needed to be then i had to cut them. i cut them to abbout the length i wanted but left a few inches at the back so i could bend the piece and have it to help mount them i left a lip to be screwed or riveted to the car in the door area after i cut them and adjusted the cuts and test fit . i mounted them and then painted. they are plain but cost 10 bucks about. and took like an hour to make and install.
i mounted them with plumbers tape on the front mud flap… plumbers
tape is like a roll of metal tape with holes in it . u cut it to the length u
want and screw or rivet it ,
i bent that into the shape i needed to mount to the flap and to the skirt. at
the back i did the same thing but a lil different shape and mounted it to
the skirt and inner fender area . and i also put a screw in the back and
front of the door jam area. u dont see them with the door closed only see
the 2 when its open… u can see 1 screw that i covered and painted on the
front by the mud flap. but. i dont care!
maybe this be somthing that some1 on here might do.
Ok first i was like “ehhh” rain gutter side skirts. But the more i just stare at them im thinking more about doing it. Just thinking .
yes i know i need a lip on the back. im working on that .
I think it cool not sure if i would do it but it cool
Not bad for $10.00 bucks. Funny I used to rock the same wheels except in a
17inch. Budget builds gotta love em’.
sweet!!! now tell me what lip that is? i saw your car on another thread and have been wondering ever since.
Lip is from a 94+ DC I believe.
nice job. my buddy took his old lip kit that was a inch off his civic and used great stuff foam to spray over them and then formed the shape he wanted and fiberglassed them in to a 4 inch lip looks real good.
the front lip is off a 97 i think. or a 95 with a newer front end on it. i did the foam with fiberglassover it b4. i saw chip foose do it to a mustang on tv and thought . hmm i could do that. there is a guy who makes his own body kits like that on 3geez.com. its the site for 86 to 89 accords if u didnt know. he does a awesome job doin that. my old honda was a 3rd gen.
if i didn’t know they were rain gutters i would rock them, but looks good though.
I didn’t know what to think when I clicked on the thread, but when I saw them painted, I think they look good!
i also have a 10 dollar set of side skirts…EK from the junk yard and cut to fit and heated a bit…on my DB1
lol to be honest with u, it looks pretty damn good…:werd: im not gonna lie!
freakin A!!! gonna do that as soon as i get the $$$ and at the same time convert my DA into a truck ehehehhh
honestly, i guess they dont look that bad painted.
they don’t look bad once painted. I guess it would look nicer if they didn’t hang as low as they do, and if the end caps seemed a little more “fluid” rather than being as sharp and edgy looking. if they were rounded a little bit, it would look awesome. BUT, for $10, you can’t beat it. nice work on trying something different.
