Honda Challenge

Is anyone on the board running in the Nasa Honda Challenge or the Scca equivalent. Im wondering because Im trying to get started in the H4 group of the Honda Challenge on the east coast and I want to know how competitive it is and what kind of mods are allowed to be done. I know the weight and brake restrictions but could someone point me in the right direction as to what I need to do, besides know how to drive, to be competitive in the Honda challenge. Also does anyone know any good shops in the mid atlantic (Penn., Maryland, Virginia, Delaware) that are good race car prep shops. Thanks in advance.

I don’t know how the competition is in your area for NASA. Here in Michigan, most of the competition is running SCCA. A few of us have tried NASA but the field is always small. The G2’s are very competitive in both. Main focus area is SAFETY/suspension/tires. Don’t worry about the engine until later unless you have the $$ to do it all at once. If you can drive well and have a good set-up, you can be in the front pack with a 120K mile stock engine.

Yeah thats what I planned. I just need a cage and a couple more suspension pieces, but my engine is mostly stock. It just has intake and exhaust. I dont plan to start racing for another year or so because I have to get my license. Thanks for the advice.
