Honda mtf goood for our transmissions?

Soo i keep reeading all these rumors about honda mtf is it goood or bad for our transmissions…???please let me know bcz i just did a tranny fluid exchange and i used honda mtf. I dont know what was in there before…let me know!!!1

Honda MTF is fine.

Manual transmissions aren’t as ‘picky’ as the automatics… if you use most anything other than Honda ATF in an auto trans you’ll kill it.

Id stick to Honda MTF or GM Synchromesh. If you’re having no grinds or other issues with the Honda stuff, leave it be.

apparently, as far as i know, the old honda mtf had friction modifiers. new stuff doesn’t.
from what i hear the gm syncromesh isn’t good for the brass syncros

HONDA mtf stopped my 3rd gear grind. Just sayin.

okayy great so i think im in the clear  i only changed its bcz ive had the car for 3 years and never changed the tranny fluid…so i thought it was about that timee…its all about PM…165k runs like a champ original engine

And just for the fact, never use anything but Honda ATF in an automatic teg. If you need to top off and cant get the Honda brand, the Valvoline in the blue bottle works good.

local place sells acura mtf. Is Acura mtf exactly the same as honda mtf?

Honda and Acura MTF ‘should’ be the same thing. I can’t see any reason why they’d differ.

Honda / Acura realized a long time ago that selling their own parts / fluids would keep them rich for years to come.

When it comes to my automatic DA, I will use nothing but Honda ATF. I have always kept it fresh too. At times I have used the Valvoline version of the ATF, but only to top it off and I only had to do that once after changing an axle. Honda transmission fluids are gold in a bottle.

Oh yeah and Honda / Acura fluids are all the same. Since Acura is more upscale, they (think they) can charge more for it.
