Horn blaring for no reason

I was just awakened at 3:30 AM to the sound of my horn blaring. I’ve owned my 93 RS for 3 years, and the horn has not once worked. I never looked too deeply into it, because I didn’t really care. However, it was rather embarassing to have my neighbors come to my door and the cops show up. I had to pull the fuse. But, I’m wondering what would have caused this? Is it possible moisture could have? Someone stole my bumper lense a week or so ago - I have new ones in the mail - and it rained today…so could water have gotten down in there and set something off? Please help. I’m worried someone is messing with my car.

It is possible water is the problem, but unlikely, more likely is a short in the horn lead at the steering column.

Try this, unplug the steering column harness and reinstall the fuse, if the horn does not sound, plug in the steering wheel harness, if horn then sounds, pull the horn “button” and check the wiring.
The horn lead is blue/red.94

Ok I will. But I mean how would a short cause it to just start sounding out of nowhere? The car had been sitting for hours, and it was raining all day.
