Horn doesn't work!!

I cannot seem to find why my horn on the db1 does not work. It has an oem steering wheel with all the proper connections, horns work if u supply direct power and the fuse is good!

I own a multimeter but I really am not an expert on using it. My buddy always uses it while he is here…

where do I begin?

Start by checking for power at the horn itself, set meter to DC volts, [20V if it is selectable] unplug the horn and test for power on the white/green lead, [with ign. on].

If you have power on the white/green you will need to test for ground on the blue/red, set meter to continuity, should be at the bottom of ohms scale, the meter will “beep” when probes are touched together if you are set to continuity, the rear-out will be 000 or very close, [004] and just like testing for power connect one probe to chassis ground and touch the other probe to the blue/red lead and have someone press the horn button, if horn button is working the meter will beep and the reading will go to 000 or close.

Question…
You said, "horns work if u supply direct power ".
What exactly does that mean, supplied power directly to where??? 94

That was the term my buddy used when he checked them…he was working on that and I worked on a blower replacement.

Since my last post…I removed the bumpers off both of my cars and tried the horns from the db1 on the da9. Horns work as they should.

the car is with my wife at work right now but I will try what u said this evening! I will post my findings.

Thanx!
