Alright, so here’s the story. I got my car back from the body shop with a new paint job and kit put on. (Black Widow Kit). Drove it home, and put it in the garage.
Today was the only day I managed to get home from work while there was still daylight. So I wanted to wash off the dust from me taking it to the body shop to home, and take some pictures.
I put some water on the hood, and starts scrubbing. I walk away a second, and it goes off, like there is some sort of alarm. I hop it, turn the key, it stops. I get out, walk back to rinse it, it starts again. Now I know I have no alarm, nor do I have a horn since mine blew. So I go in, test the horn for kicks, and I was right, it was out.
So I get back out, I tap the bumper, pop the hood, look around, it’s deafening me very very nicely must I say. Finally I figure out that there’s these two little speaker type things in front of the front tires. So I touch one of them and it stops, but through my front bumper side grills, I see that there’s a little electric charge moving around there, so I take my finger off not wanting to get a nice shock.
So I get a lil frustrated, and put her back in the garage. Meanwhile, my girl’s father calls and tells me to cut the wire going from it, since it probably was some alarm that the previous owner installed. Mind you, I have never had this problem in th 3 years I owned this car.
So I go back out, with a pair of scissors, ready to slice the wires, I touch the lil speaker thing for kicks, and it stops again. I take my finger off, and it’s stopped. I use my sleeve to rub it off, and it stays quiet. My personal opinion is that water somehow got in whatever that is and set whatever it was off.
Now, is that an alarm that I had no clue about, or is it something else, and how do I get around to washing my car because of it.
Sorry for the long post. Any advice would be more than welcome.
