I was just wondering if anyone had seen these hoses in person, more a specifically the black. It says its glossy black, and i’ dont’ really want them to be too shiny.
bleh silicone hoses look cheap IMO…look like ugly plastic. Rubber or stainless steel braided is the only way to go.
yeah, i agree about the cheapness look. They are just too shiny…thats why i’m asking. I’d like to replace most of the vacuum hoses on the car but want something a little darker than the stock ones, and I’d like it if they didn’t have writing all over them. You happen to know where to get any really simple really low key hoses (basically just something that won’t stand out at all)?
steel braided? you can get steel braded vacuum hoses? man, thats gotta cost a pretty penny!!!
I have Hose Techniques vacuum hoses on my car. I don’t have black though, I did all mine in white. I would recommend them because unlike some of the cheaper vacuum hoses that you can get at Autozone or somewhere, Hose Techniques hoses wont change color or fade.(I got some of those blue hoses from Autozone and they changed to purple/pink from the heat.) And as far as the black goes, im not sure if they would look cheap or not, ive only seen the white Hose Techniques hoses. -matt
I have seen red ones in person, good quality, strong, but you may think they look cheap and they do have a gloss to them though.
how about save your money and replace the 10 year old coolant hoses instead? much more vital but more of a pain to get to
for the smaller hoses (ie from the valve cover to intake) I just buy a black garden hose and cut it up…
