I have a b16a in my 1991 teg and ever since spring/summer hit canada the inside of my engine compartment is extremely hot. even my aem so called “cold air intake” turns hot after a while…any ideea what I could do to reduce the heat inside…my temperature gage shows everything is fine but I’m a bit worried about all that heat. Is it normal?
engines get hot, thats just the nature of them. as long as the temp gauges reads ok, then you’re fine. The intake piping will get hot, afterall its sitting right next to a very hot engine. its called a cai because it draws air from outside of the engine compartment (thus, where its colder). To cut back on the temp that the piping gets you can paint it, or cover it with a heat wrap.
maybe an oil cooler and aftermarket fans will make you feel safer…surely they cant hurt:p
