how can I still have aftermarket parts but be street legal?

Hey all I am sick of being harassed for having non stock exhaust on my car… I live in WA State, how can I still have aftermarket parts but be street legal?

Has the law changed so now its not dependent on the db of the exhaust, but the fact that the exhaust is not in stock form?

if so, that means that 65% of all car owners around here are in violation of that law!

get you a stock axleback and get a cut out?!

+1^^

Here in CA its always been a P.I.T.A. to drive around modified. The best option is to have a stock axleback and just keep the headers, Intake, and possibly put on a Test pipe or gutted out Catalytic Converter. The sound is there when you step on it, but otherwise sounds moderately stock when driving normally.

You could always try to find an HKS sport exhaust, which is pretty rare and hasn’t been made in a long time, but does have a twin-tipped exhaust so it looks almost completely stock. I live in Cali and have never been hassled about my HKS exhaust.
