im trying install an after market HU / deck into my 90 integra but am having some trouble,
where can the deck mount? i have the “adapter” kit that i bought online and it has all the plastic that mounts the deck and the pocket underneath the deck but the deck has nothing to be secured onto…?
im not sure if im missing anything in my console area since the car has been ripped apart before.
the original deck attached onto the far back area with a honda bracket, but my deck does not have this…
Most aftermarket decks use the cage surround to secure the HU in place.
Although some come with a metal bracket that you can bend into a “L” shape, and you can bolt it down to the back like the stock HU does.
There should be a mounting screw somewhere behind the HU also.
The kit just clips onto the sides of the stock HU opening, once its in there it’ll be fine, it fits really tight, mine doesn’t move at all. I also made a backstrap out of thick metal and “security screws”:shrug: but that doesn’t support the HU at all, it is just there to make it hard to steal
EDIT: do you mean how the HU is secured to the kit, or how the kit is secured to the car? I took it as the latter, but if you want to know how to secure the HU to the kit, you use the cage from the HU, and bend the metal pieces around the kit, hard to explain with words tho (HU should have a diagram/picture)…And if your wondering if you are missing pieces, does your car have a cigarette lighter and ashtray? The piece that holds those two items is also the piece that holds the radio.
