take off the rotor and the side of the distributor will be exposed.
I’ve taken off the rotor and dust shield - i’m looking into the distributor housing and it looks like the ignitor screws are hidden behind what looks like some sort of large gear on a rod that attaches to the rotor.
Perhaps you’re looking for these two screws. Sometimes the ignitor screws are on the outside.

Got it out -
For those of you who need to know, on my 93gs, you can take the ignitor / igniter / icm / ignition control module (whatever you wanna call it) out without removing the distributor.
Here is a picture of a similar igniter:

When you are looking in the distributor, you see one of those top two screws way deep inside of the distributor, so you assume that those screws are holding the igniter in - WRONG. They are holding the ignitor to the heatsink. You can remove the ignitor by removing the two screws in front of the ignitor, which are on the distributor housing, just below the front of the igniter.
CAUTION: THOSE SCREWS STRIP REALLY REALLY EASY!
