hmmmm well whats the location of that, i assumed that this would work- seems pretty strong.
i dont even know where thats located/ nor how to mount it with the bumper.

If you pull of your bumper it’s the heavy peice of metal that actually holds up the plastic bumper cover.
It appears from the fourth photo that you actually deformed the radiator support when you torqued down the bolts. If so, I would be concerned about the support getting deformed further if this were actually used as a tow hook. That’s a rather long lever arm, so consider that a lateral or upward force is going to exert a twisting load on the support. What’s the approximate material thickness at that point?
Also, what grade of bolts are you using?
I came in here to say the same thing… there’s a reason the stock tow hooks are mounted to the frame rails instead of the radiator support. There’s really no structural support there.
well from the pictures i posted, can you see the proper location to mount this???- i mean i like where its located but im not tryin to be gayDM im looking for it to actually work
The bumper support would be a bit better… you left it attached to the bumper, it looks like. But even that’s not great… the bolts that hold it to the frame rails are seriously weak. It’s designed to withstand temporary crushing forces, not prolonged pulling forces.
Personally, I wouldn’t mount it anywhere other than the frame rails, but that tow hook probably isn’t long enough and/or shaped right to make it out past the bumper. Not sure what the best course of action is… ditch 'em, maybe.
I can’t really say, as I’ve never had my bumper off before. At any rate, I wouldn’t recommend using it as is. I’d find a stiffer structure to bolt to, and I’d probably use four Grade 8 bolts, rather than two. I’m assuming what you have there is probably Grade 2 or 5.
well you honestly cant fit more then 2 because there would be no way to bolt it down- a/c condenser is in the way/ and i doubt the hook would be long enough then…
hmmmmm. i mean honestly my stock front tow hook is unacessable being that my car is so low anyway.
thanks but i wouldnt use that strap anyway. im assuming that you would clip that to the stock hook which would still put lots of stress on my front lip.
