How do I make my hood stand like this? Pics shown

cracked my windshield also about 3 weeks ago, stupid corner of the hood! DIEEEE

That’s so strange to me that you guys say you crack your windshields by doing this. I’ve been doing it for over 5yrs, I never use the hood prop anymore, on any of my DA’s over the years, same w/ all my friends. Never had a single crack.

I’m curious how the DC/EG/EK hood prop setup would look like in a DA bay. I have the prop I just need to know where to put it.

Coz

i used the prop rod from my rx7 and works amazing
ill take a pic of it if anyone wants to see

I’d like to see.

Whenever I put a hood on by myself, I always roll up sum old towels, sheets or blankets and use them to stop the hood from smacking the glass. If u stack it up right, u can get the hood to sit right on the soft padding and start the bolts by hand.

I think everyone’s referring to having a permanent solution that involves a hood prop. The wind can always knock down your hood no matter how much padding you put between the windshield and the hood.

original poster said he wanted more room to work under the hood. Others suggested just taking the hood off, so I figured I would mention how I get hoods on by myself.

Yes, and I bumped the thread because I wanted to see a pic of a non DA hood prop proping a DA hood. Googling information is faster than this forum sometimes.

looks good. I actually have the stop removed. easier to work on the engine but remember to put a towel inbetween the hood and glass. and remember to latch you hood or yer askin for it

thanks for the tips

think i might try this

loosen this bolt and move stopper out of the way, then tighten bolt back up. or remove completly . i took a piece of old vaccum tube sliced it down the middle and stuck it over the top of the hood so when the hood is up it rests on the window and cant blow into it. . it can stil be blown hard and fall on my head or probbably still smack the window but i live in the country and get big gusts of wind all the time and for 2 or 3 years of havin my hoods like thhis … no broken window… bbut im sure it can happen
