How Does Your Teg Tear Up The Track

I have noticed a lot of teg owners on here and other sights are always asking what the best set up is or how they should build this and that or what does everyone else like. My goal here is to get a thread started where everyone can list there set up so others can compare and make their own decisions. So lets get started. Tell all of us here what parts you have and hp/torque numbers (estimated or dynoed) and what times you run. The more info the better. This thread could help out so many but i need everyones help.

Do you want just engine setups or complete car setups? Is this drag racing only?

There’s a whole lot of info here about what engine builds give what horsepower results: http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=1583606

There are many calculators available online to get approximate quarter mile times from horsepower + vehicle weight.

I was thinking more along engine setups and the numbers they bring on a dyno and strip. I would like to see some turbo set ups to help me out with my build but all are welcome and appreciated.

before anyone just comes out and says “strut bars, roll cage, 250hp needed”

for any type of racing, the basic need to be covered

#1 thing you need to make sure of, is that your engine/transmission/drivetrain is in good/nothing to worry about condition. nothing leaking, and your cooling system is working efficiently.

#2 suspension is well, everything is tight. good tires to take the abuse

#3 a -100ft/lb of torque B16 can still be fun :naughty:

Yeah ive already heard a bunch of stories with the track claiming a few da’s.:danger:

I personally never have never seen nor heard of a trackday or event claiming a DA, but I’ve heard plenty of stories of problems occurring at the track.

all the little problems that were never an issue, or showed up, will show up, and maybe in the 1st lap around, or the last lap of the day around…

just keeps you on your toes to keep on the good side of the car, check, double check, triple check all clamps, hoses, fluid levels, always alert of sounds, leaks, mileage of motor / chassis to keep up with maintenance, etc…

but man oh man, there’s nothing like being at the track, staying between 6k - 8200rpm for a full tank and a half throughout a nice, clear, (40’ish degrees when i went to streets of willows) day

best day, evar.

Yeah that does sound great. I only get to hit up the drag strip now and i havnt even run my da. Im more worried its gonna toast the dif or something so for now it sits and i run the evo instead.

EVO’s @ the track - stock clutch goes bye bye so quickly

#1.5 brakes, brakes, brakes. Make sure your pads and rotors are in good condition…if in doubt, change them. Make sure to bleed your brake fluid and use good brake fluid. I only changed my pads and rotors in the front and I used shitty brake fluid so I had some brake problems at the track (pedal went all the way to the floor). It was my first track event at ITR expo 9 and I had a blast. My car has a stock b18a with bolt ons and PIC 10k 8k coilovers with the asr 24mm kit and I am happy with the way it handled.

BTW, I took a ride in a type r in the advanced group and he overtook an EVO

good one!

tegboi: Stock clutches do suck but i have learned to launch it without slippin it too bad.

whoami: was that 10k front 8k back? I am looking for a good drag suspension setup and people have really been talking about those PIC’s. Are they adjustable struts? Do you remember your 60ft times? Or any other times?

Oh and my brother and a friend of mine seem to think that my da will never beet the evo or my friends mustang. I know i can and would love to educate them.

Haha Im an idiot. I didnt realize this thread was about drag racing. My post was based purely towards circuit racing. I actually dont have any expierence with drag racing. Yes my coilovers are 10k front and 8k back but they are not PICs drag racing coilovers.

i didnt see this thread being aimed towards drag racing…

if it was, i wouldnt have posted
