ok so i searched for a thread but could not find one and im kind of a noob here so sorry and redirect me if this is posted already, thanks!
alright so i have a 93 integra hatch with a b20b p8r swap and a b16 tranny. its got a few toys like a carbon lip and k sport 36 way suspension, intake and stuff like that, very basic.
NOW the question is, how much does your car weigh?? because i was very surprised to find out mine weighs only 2400 and some change with me in it?! my car is a daily driver and has every thing left in it and power everything. only thing i did was take out my sub and my jack and spare tire for the track that night. so like i said i surprised to see these low numbers, thats delsol territory.
throw some numbers down id like to see some stock weights, swaped weights, and weight reduction numbers. thanks guys!
mostly bone stock (in terms of aftermarket parts) 91 GS but ive been pretty extensive with the jenny craig on this one.
a single drivers seat. from the radio bezel to all the way back is gutted, hatch too, factory glass tho, no 3rd brake light, no rear wiper
no interior door panels, carpet or sound deadening. the dash is mostly gutted. still has AC/heat tho.
power steering delete, ABS delete, lighter-weight battery, all the random heat shielding and splash panels are gone. wiper squirter system is gone. japanese bumper supports.
cornerweighted at 2190 with 1/8 tank of fuel.
i actually did most of the interior gutting to find and fix a few leaks id get when it rained. i noticed i had gone a few extra days before filling up, then i went MPG crazy. my best mileage to date in the car was this last tank i got 37mpg. and thats with my weekly jaunt out to the back country roads for some spirited driving.
im trying to go lighter but i fear removing anymore weight from the back of the car will make it too light and loose traction easier, i already have a rear brake bias now that all that weight is gone.
there really isnt much to remove out of the front of the car other than actual metal of the cars unibody so im weary about that.
im pretty sure i can get another 100lbs worth of AC/heat and lightweight part replacement. my goal was 2000lbs wet and loaded, but looking at the sparse interior im thinking ill just go for 2000 empty
That’s still near 500lbs off. If im not wrong, getting the 300 off so far is still a huge amount of wight to lose. I’m think i can do like 2200-2300lbs.
good stuff guys. im trying to decide right now if im going to take my AC out but i live in daytona beach so id probably want that for the summers. mines not an rs its the XSI and when i weighed in i had about a half a tank. BUT i do have my whole wiper system except the blades gutted so that might make a 20 pound difference at best. what do you guys think about putting the batterie in the back? do you think it makes a difference in this car or no because its fron twheel drive? thanks for the imput!
Every now and then I use my teg to haul scrap metals to the local yard. I go over the scale once with the scraps in the car, then again with the car unloaded. Last time I checked the receipt I was around 2100 lbs with me in the car. I weigh 180 lbs.
91 LS, complete interior, w/ spare tire and jack in trunk, whole interior dash to trunk + doors and quarter panels lined with sound deadener, all stock engine bay except power steering removed, full tank of gas.
p.s. don’t mind the front bumper. the 92-93 was at the shop getting repainted.
ya paul man i dont think so lol. gotta be a mistake there…definitely not with the auto tranny. that shits heavy, unless theres some major weight reduction bro.
I need to look at my last receipt from the haul place.
Its rather ironic that I use it to haul other car’s busted engines to the scrapper. Many of these are Saturn blocks because their lack of steel sleeves. One one of these I can get almost $100 in aluminum with the head. Everything stripped off the metal.
