can anyone tell me how to check if the PCV valve is working. All i know is to press the tube and to listen for something. what should I listen for/hear?

If I remember correctly when you partially depress the hose that the PCV is connected to, you’ll hear clicking if it’s working properly.
yup. and if its out, just shake it and if it sounds like theres a little rock banging around, then its good
Just shake it. If it rattles then it is good and if you cant hear anything then it is bad.

You need to pull out the PCV valve and shake it by hand so you can hear if the ball inside it is loose…
So, in answer to your question, the engine needs to be off.

mine is a pain in the butt to get out. its in there pretty good. So if you have it out just spend the 2 or 3 bucks and replace it.
