so how did you guys modify the H4 to not only fit in a one piece but to have better visibility??
I did a Teg tip on it with some good feedback from members here. Pretty much ended up being a collaboration of ideas. Unfortunately, I don’ t know where the Teg tip section went. You might want to give N FUL FX or B17A an email and see if they saved that particular post.

i jsut want to know how th ey point the light beam with the H4 bulb?? obviously if they did what they said it would of been up but that would kill alot of the light… i mean if you look into the lense you can pratically see the bottom side of the bulb.

Wanna re-explain this quote for me. You totally lost me here
Thanks,

with the H4 bulbs… the low beam… it has this metal oval cover on one side of it… If you look at a H4H bulb… the low beam has no cover on it. what that means is when you put the H4 bulbs into your jdm one piece headlight. the H4 beam would only hit the top side of the lense because all the light that would of gone/reflect off of the bottom side of the lens is all covered up by the oval metal cover in the bulb lense. the H4 housing car’s have a special type of housing that reflects the light from one side of the lens to the other… but the H4H bulb lenses does not. so in the end you will only light up half of the lense and get a semi finish visibility compare to a H4H bulb.
curious lodoss if u have corrected the problem or no ???
i’m curious because i’ll be doing this conversion soon
TIA
you can’t… the bulbs design are completely different. i’m jsut waiting until i can get someone to find me some H4H bulbs or i can get my bro in taiwan to get me some.
I see N FUL FX restored the post (Thanks ). Anyway, LODOSS, I personally never had a visibility problem with the H4. I did use Burnsie’s suggestion of bending the 3 metal tabs rather than re-soldering it. When properly aimed, my H4 mod lit up the road better than our stock 9004 system…low and high beams. All I can suggest to you now is to try it out yourself. A regular H4 bulb costs only $10 Cdn. each here from my local Auto store, so you have little to lose. And I highly suggest following Burnsie’s idea of bending the 3 tabs.

hm. so you are saying i should paly around with it some more??? you think i did not stick it far enough in to it?
would someone be so kind to post a pic of the light output with the H4 vs H4H?
well i did both of them… i must say the cutting job n the second one got alot easier after from exp of the first one… the whoel cutting making it fit etc took about 2 hours for the first one and about 20 min for the second one… but as i was putting the new bulb and knowing that it was all ready to go… i was finializing the fitment making sure all the lil tabs is perfect and i was doing the last one… the bulb few out of the ring housing and into the ground it went… i was so pissed and scared but after i looked at it… i think it was ok… it hit pretty hard but the bulb prob did not touch the ground first… there is some type of scarring at near the bottom of the bulb but i think it’ll be ok. although that metal tab in there broke off again just like the other one… not sure if this happens all the time . will it hurt the bulb??? i’m talking about the lil metal tab string that goes from the oval lense to the top of the bulb (the area that is covered with stuff). it’ll prob won’t give out as good of a light cause usually theat stuff at the tip of the bulb changes color to give the light K that it says on the box… but i guess not for me… besides with my catz zeta it is already white enough…
anyways in conclusion i have not seen both light in action i nthe night… but i think the loss of the visibility is made up for the chepaer price bulbs and the avaialalbility…
snits cost 20 bucks for a decent one though but don’t go cheap on these otherwise you’ll be hurting… espcally if you get the razo bulbs which is made out of polish sheet metal.
I see you went through and did both bulbs LODOSS… let me know how they are at night… is visibility really that hindered… i’m curious? thanks in advance
