Im trying to remove the driver side motor mount to change my timing belt. How to remove the nut from the bottom?(edit- found out it’s a bolt not a nut) I got the other 2 out, but this last one is giving me some trouble. Thanks
Do you mean you’re having a clearance issue to get your tool in there?
I mean i can get a socket on it, trying to unthread it is super hard though, I’ll try again later today
Okay. Are you also raising the engine with a jack to relieve some of the load?
Yeah, im using a jack with wood, Would raising the engine or lowering the engine with the jack help in anyway to remove that last bolt?
You may have to raise it a little bit. In case it is seized, are you using any penetrating oil?
Ok thanks. And no I am not using any penetrating oil at the moment.
At the risk of being insulting, make sure you are using a 6-point socket to lessen the chance of stripping. Can you get heat on it without collateral damage? Can you get either an air impact tool or a long cheater bar/pipe on your rachet or wrench? Another alternative is to use a dremel with a cut off disk to cut through the nut or a grinder to take the bolt head off, (I had to dremel off my front wheel nut.)
@Rider47 is right. I think I had to use a cheater bar to get that badboy off.
