How to remove/replace back seat covers.

Was asked to post this DIY on how to remove the back seat covers. These steps are also good for the front, but less of them dam clips…lol

Now,before i start, let me add that I’m not responsible if you screw up,you are doing this at your own risk.

First, remove the back seats, not hard to do. Simply remove the 4 10mm bolts, and the 10mm on the bracket on the left side of the drivers side backrest and set aside. There is another 10mm that holds the bottom (BENCH) in place, then lift up and pull the bench out.

Now on to the hard stuff. With a needle nose, start spreading the clips apart and save. WARNING: You will need gloves, cause you will get blisters.

There are 4 bars on the covers, don’t bend them. Remover the clips from the ones that have them, then there should be 2 other bars without clips. You need to pull one side of these bars and unhook them from the support bar,not hard to see what I’m talking about.

On the side of the backrests, there are the latch, remove the screws so you don’t rip the cover.

On the top part of the backrest are the pullup handles,no need to remove, simply pull the cover up and over them,to put the new covers on,backtrack all steps as shown. Be sure to put the clips where they belong.

Done

Nice job and thanks!

Be sure to post (DIY seats) in headline.

nice write up mang.thanks

A pair of Hog Ring pliers and new Hog rings will probably save you from getting those blisters…

True that^^^ lol
But didn’t have the time nor money to buy them,so i just reused the old ones and used the needle nose, worked fine.

I was going to say the same thing. Have done it with hog ring pliers and without and it was a lot easier with the pliers.
