How to replace clutch cable?

I’ve got a new cable but I couldn’t see an easy trick to doing the job.

How is it done correctly? The Helms manual doesn’t cover it as far as I can tell.

I replaced mine not so long ago. What i did was loosen the nut at the end of the cable (on the tranny). Then remove the one on the other end (clutch pedal). Once you’ve done that, just pull the cable away from the firewall. That should be it. Install is just the opposite. HTH.

How do you disconnect the cable from the pedal? Does the cable simply “hook” over the catch at the top of the pedal? Once you get that disconnected, I assume the cable will squeeze through that sturdy hunk of metal that secures the pedal and cable to the firewall?

Thanks!

Yes, it’s just like a hook on top of the clutch pedal assembly. Once that’s off, just pull the cable out of the firewall. It’s not hard to do, it’s just that i have big hands and had a hard time working in those small areas.
