I just did the renewing onepieces teg tip and I have to say they look brand new. its awesome. But it was a lot of work and and I’m not trying to do it again in six months. I have searched and have not come up with anything specific. I have heard the phrase “taking care of your one pieces” but I’m not sure what that entails. Is there something I need to do periodically to my lights to keep them from yellowing? Or do I just have to wait until they yellow and ‘re-new’ them again? And if thats the case how long does the re-new procedure last for on average, before it starts to yellow again.
TIA
After re-newing mine, They began to turn yellow about a month later.
But i found useing PlatX on them weekly kept them looking good
PlatX? whats that? and is it different from the meguirs plasic cleaner/polisher that i bought to clean them with?
he must have meant the plastX. i was reading and saw that you have to run another clearcoat on them? i have seen some stuff called Zoop sealer. it seals plastics and aluminum.
PlastX is a plastic wax/cleaner for headlights & such. Helps prevent yellowing. Works great. Any polishing wax will do just fine. The Mequiars is great. You just need to keep’em clean & shiny.
I just use some Invisible Glass window cleaner from Stoners. My lights haven’t yellowed since I got them. It might be different if you’ve had yellowing problems already.
:getsome: :manual:
cool, I just cleaned my 1 paces, thanks for the tips:burnout: :burnout: :burnout:
so as long as i keep ontop of re-applyin the meguir’s i bought, then i should be yellow-free? cool
i wax/polish mine on the regular, headlights that is to keep them clean. i think they usually get that way so quick as a result of not properly ‘maintaining’ them.
maintaining=reapplying polish frequently
have any of you even put any type of sealer or a coat of clearcoat on them? It makes no sense to have to polish them all the time. If you just polish them without sealing them somehow, all you are doing is continuing to expose the bare plastic to the elements. I’m gonnatry and find some of that zoop sealer stuff…
