I have pulled the a/c pump from my car because it didnt work. The clutch assembly did not engage. Now that it is out of the car, would a 12v source be sufficient to activate the clutch? Any other ways of telling if it is bad? Will a/c pumps work from other vehicles?
12v should engage the clutch. don’t think any other vehicles pumps will match up
the system has a safety pressure switch that wont allow the clutch to pull if it doesnt see adequate pressure in the system. it could have possibly just needed a recharge
ah shit. The last owner was a acura mechanic and said the a/c worked but needed recharge but I couldnt get the pump working. So… How would you fill the a/c if the pump dosnt work? I guess I’m gonna put the shit back in.
