HP numbers

so i borrow my friend’s gtech pro,

after 4 runs, this is near as good as it gets…id say it’s about 95% considering gtech will put out lower numbers than a real dyno would. getting used to this type of performance meter was a bit difficult as i did it on the most level freeway onramp i could find (not perfectly straight though). Compared to the runs i did with my stock gsr (this thing should be relative) the numbers are pretty reasonable in my mind. I could Not go 100% during the run as breaking traction would give me even lower numbers - id say this 157 figure is with about 75% throtle - i still broke traction in first gear and i took it easy in 2nd.

i have a fairly modded b17 with a stock bottom end…i know id be getting more if i had higher compression and better tuning. im satisfied with these numbers. Im bent on getting new cams, well see how that goes later.

so what exactly are your mods?
just headwork? what cams? any machining?
i think a stock healthy b17 would be about 140whp, so that sounds about right.

my engine mods:
DC 4-1, RS*R original, skunk2 manifold, 68mm TB, ebay filter on a stick, uberdata basemap, ctr cams, extrude honed ports, supertech valvesprings and flat top valves, cam gears set at E+4/I+1.

i think im gonna upgrade the cams soon…i expect about 10whp from 3000 to redline. if i had money id put in wiseco pistons with a 5cc dome to get high 10 or low 11 compression ratio.

not bad considering my engine has 185k miles

vtec at 6000, redline at 8700
Yes i am aware vtec kicks in late, i set it up that way. i didnt setup this car for drag. I wouldnt want vtec to engage in the middle of a turn…

just for reference if u like, with my intake, header, 9mm wires, dirty filter, oil leak, and a fartcan i put down 149.

how much hp does that dash pad add? just playing with ya buddy

 I never saw a G2 with a dash cover before. Weird.

Nice #'s though man. Engine’s in good shape

me too
