hydro and cable tranny gear swapping

has anyone swapped out gears from a hydro tranny into a cable tranny? I see alot of people posting about the ys1 tranny so what is the diffrence between the ys1 92-93 gsr cable tranny and the 94-01 gsr hydro trannys. It seems to me that a newer gsr hydro tranny in a junk yard would be in better condition then most of the ys1’s out there and they are easier to find. Then you could just swap around gears with the tranny you have now. Maybe im wrong though… I havent heard of anyone realy doing this yet and was wondering

Well, It Can Be Done.

I Took All Of The Guts From A JDM 1998 ITR Transmission And Swapped Them Into A Cable Transmission Case. The Only Part That Was A Little Technical Was The Diff And The Case Bearings.
