i blew a rod, how can i tell if my crank is still good?

im not an engine guru, so i really dont know how to tell. I havent been able to disassemble the bottom end yet but i do know i blew a rod. Do you think my crank got messed up during the blowing of the rod?

i thought i might have blew a rod since i have a hole in my block the size of a half dollar, but i dont really know much about engines so i chould be wrong. Is their any way visually that i can tell if its still good?
