So I just found out today that the 90 teg i bought last saturday is FUBAR. Apparently the frame is all sorts of f’ed up. Also the motor has a bad coolant leak. Of course the previous owner failed to mention any of these issues to me. Heres the f/s thread http://g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=159188
So what should I do? I dont think he will willingly give me my money back. This really blows because i need a car. I might just have to buy a new car.
im not sure if there anythign u can do:S like he may not of known the frame was bent but maybe he did that the thing who knows luckly u only spent 1500$
well the messed up frame is all your fault for not noticing. and as for the coolant leak…just fix it. big deal
eh, it looks okay…at least in the pictures. Fix the coolant leak. How messed up is the frame? Messed up enough so it doesnt drive straight? Deal was done and looks like your not going to get your money back.
ya fix the leak. and what is it that makes you think the frame is all whack?
The whole front crossmember is bent. The car wants to drive in circle. My mechanic told me nothing can be done to fix it. The car was obviously in a bad collision. The previous owner did not mention this and told me it just had a bad alignment. I might try to sue him.
you paid 1500 dollars for a wrecked and heavily modified 15+ year old car, and youre upset because its leaking coolant and the unibody is bent? Those two things could have been easily detected if you gave it a good visual inspection, or took it to a mechanic before buying. :stfu: Its called buyer beware, the seller has no obligation to point out every flaw on the vehicle, thats YOUR responsibility
the seller does have an obligation to disclose information on accidents and problems when asked i asked him whats wrong with the car he said nothin just alignment i call that non disclosure
UMMM
Pretty sure youre thinking real estate law there
did you try a carfax on it? in his ad he said he backed into it and that it will need an alignment and a new pass fender… to me that sounds like he told you something happand… so its no longer his fault… i would say carfax it… i bent subframe is nothing… go to the junkyard and get a new one… or better yet get a performance upgrade…
Laws vary per state but most of the time you are on your own (you seem to have more protection if you buy from a licensed dealer or reseller). The link to the MD dmv says to try to obtain accident info or possible salvage title info through them or a 3rd party service.
+1
So im fucked thats what your sayin? Well this is just great. I guess ill just have to find other means to get my money back. Unlawful means. Oh if it matters i bought the car in VA not MD
sucks to be you
pretty much. Ive lost all my passion for cars. And that was pretty much the only thing that made me happy. Just one disapointment after another.
Wow man I am sorry that happened to you. I would be pissed as hell. And then someone was like “just fix it” he would be pissed as hell too if that happened to him
Well it turns out the guy forged the signature on the title. The car wasnt actually in his name it was someone with the same last name, a brother or his dad idk. Doesnt this make the sale illegitamate?
and i quote…
did you end up washing his civic?
If he forged a signature, yes it’s void.
edit:
Thats actually a felony in most states.
