I need a Catalytic Converter for my 1990 Integra

Hello all,

Yes, I searched. But I’m not too savvy when it comes to exhaust/piping. Basically, my current cat is shot. My car runs pretty bad as does it smell. I don’t need it for emissions, just for maintenance I guess. Also, I live in California and I’m tight on money.

I looked at Dynomax and Magnaflow but don’t know which one will work best. My current Cat is welded on. It had a leak not too long ago and had my local muffler shop seal it. He told me the pipe on my car is 2" so which one exactly will I need (2" or 2.25")? I saw a Magnaflow 34004 but wasn’t sure if that will work. I saw a 13" dynomax but not sure if its too small. A little help will greatly be appreciated.

wrong area to post this and just go buy one from a muffler shop…

I went to a muffler shop. If I had $300 to spare, I would. I see a few online that run 70-100. Just need general information.

how do you know the cat is no good? only way it would cause your car not to run right is if the catalyst has broken up inside and caused a restriction. with the car idling, feel at the exhaust tips. can you feel a fair amount of flow? and with rpm at 2000?

if you’re replacing the cat, i’d sooner buy a good used oem unit than a brand new aftermarket one. a 92-up oem cat will lower emissions more than a 90-91

The guy told me when I tried to smog my car. If I could find a used oem cat, I would. But I think selling used cats is illegal (from what I heard). Regardless, I won’t find a good used one.

So aftermarket is my only choice. The guy at the muffler shop told me to find one online because I’d save tons of money.

So my question is, what are the required dimensions? Considering it will be welded on, what should I look out for?

dude just drive out here to palmdale/lancaster and i know a reputable shop or two that can get you a ca legal cat and aftermarket piping for no more than 250 installed…

amazon sells them. go to magnaflow.com search the one up, type in the part number on amazon.

Try looking around more my muffler shop wanted about 150 for a highflow cat including install.

if you havent found one. Email me…

I’m in Cali. They want 300+ for one installed.

I did. But I noticed that one offered one with a 2" piping and another with a 2.5. I just want the proper dimensions and I can do the rest.

id go wit da 2" one
