I need a good *budget* racing seat.

I’m looking to spend around 300-400 dollars on a racing seat, only a single seat!! Does anyone have any ideas? I’ve been looking around but it seems a lot of the seats in my price range are made by companies I’ve never heard of. Are there seats that will work that are made by more reputable companies?

Also, what else will I need to go with the seat to be able to install it?

what i’ve learned from experience and from seeing what other people get is that you get what you pay for when it comes to seats. i’d go with a sparco or a corbeau or something similar if i were you. stay away from tenzo for sure…

and to install you need a bracket and sliders.

I’ve got a Sparco Speed seat with 4-point harness in my car and it works beautifully. I’d go with a 1-piece because it will hold you a little tighter and it weighs FAR less than a 2-piece seat.

check in to what i got. they are a set of momo fiberglass seats. dont get me wrong they are the most uncomfortable ass seats i have ever sat in. but if you get you the sliders and shit you can just change em out for the weekend at the track or whatever. they might not be comforable (they do have somewhat padded momo covers) but they do the job and well. and weigh about the same as my steering wheel maybe less. lol

sparco speed or momo start… the two most basic seats… around $200…

i have a speed and because its not fiberglass… the fabric expands to cushion me on bumps so its not as drastic…

pshhh… get a set of 4g prelude seats… they’re made by recaro anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

All right I’ve decided on a Corbeau Forza, 5 pt. harness, and an Autopower roll bar.

sparco spring is pretty cheap as well

are delsol seats good seats?

Sam, are you planning on doing any kind of actual racing? If so, what kind?

Autocross. I can’t afford the seats anymore though because I’m paying for flight school.
