Ok As you all have probably heard my sad story of getting hit last week by a woman backing up onto my Teg. Well its going to take me some time to get this shit settled. They are saying that I ran into her. Its total bullshit and I am trying to find the people that were with me in the car when it happend.
I am sure I can win back my case but here is the problem:
As you can see that my Teg is now in need of a little front end repair.
I need help finding a hood, fender (only OEM) and some 1 piece headlights.
I have decided to go ahead and paint the car parts gray primer. Ill save the money up and have the car painted later. I am going over the ENTIRE front end of the car. I have already had to take the bumper and headlights out when I got the white bumper. I am certain that I should be able to take the fenders off and put the new one on with great care applied.
While I am at it I plan on buying a new bumper reinforcement for $70 here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/92-93-ACURA-INTEGRA-F-BUMPER-REINFORCEMENT-IMPACT-BAR_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ42614QQihZ009QQitemZ190239619874QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
Anyone ever used this cheap one? I hope it works for me. I also have to replace the driver’s side beam mount. These things should allow the bumper cover to nicely match all the corners like it should.
Well with all that said, I have to get this done in about a month’s or less time, and the car needs to stay functional on a daily basis (I could go mabie 4 days max without her). I still have to replace the springs and struts, CV axles, rear trailing arm bushings, but I will do these things after I get the front end fixed.
It is a shame that the Lady who hit me had to lie to the insurance company telling them that I hit her. This is very hard on me because I dont make much money and I cant even belive she is getting away with this shit.
I was about to start my build, but this sets me back about 2 month’s worth of project money.
Well when I do get my witnesses together, which I will, I am getting an auto accident attorney (can anyone recommend one for my situation?) and raping this Insurance comapny a new hole.
[QUOTE=DA9;1904357]for the one piece headlights i’d say go with the Real JDM one piece headlight, quality is 100 times better and looks 100 time better.
You can call morgan&morgan and im pretty sure they will be able to help you to win and rape the insurance company, they helped my buddy he is now getting payed $7k a month for next 5 years.
Well, actually yes I did.
They have a CAPA certified fender for $67 and like $60 to ship.
I guess they guarantee the fit of the product, but I am not entirely sure about buying such a cheap fender.
I would rather find an OEM fender that is used and the same color as my car. All the junkyards around here do not have any gen 2 tegs for parts. When they do get one, they think it is the holy grail and charge way to much for the part.
I went down to another junk yard today and found a good driver’s side fender, off a Black 92, for $75. He has a good headlight for $100 and a good bumper assembly that has a good reinforcement for $150. I will have to sand them down and repaint them.
He also has a good driver’s door skin, some good shocks and springs on the front, and a few other things.
If I sand down the fender, bumper, and driver’s door, and primer it, how much should I expect to have it painted Horizon Gray?
Those prices are steep for junkyard parts. Use Car-Part.com. THat’s how I found my motor for my Caprice, and just about every other part that I needed.
I used car-part.com and that is how I found the fender. Anyways, I just got the new one installed and primered. It needs a few more sprays, but I am letting it dry a few more days first. I straightened the headlight a little, but it and the hood is being replaced on the next paycheck.
Oh yeah, I got shitty service from the junk yard too. I showed up 45 minutes before close, with $400 in my hand and they told me I had to wait to the next day, because it was too close to close time. Oh yeah, they scratched the fuck out of the paint on it too, as well as put a small ding on the wheel well rim.
I am converting the whole car to primer, then painting it a new color later on when I have more cash. I also have to sand down some rust, as well as bondo the body a little. But hoo-ray, I got the fender to line up with the hood and door correctly, too!
