I need help on a relay switch

I need to change my starter or main relay but idk where is the main relay is at and the starter relay looks hard to get to. Can some one help me out go through it step by step for me? I’ve find a thread about a DA starter relay but it doesn’t say how to get to it. It shows good picures and it’s not enough for a noob  not looking forward to push starting my car like last year.

Anybody? And help?

couldn’t tell you since my problem was the starter…
but during my own searching around this forum for relay info, the info is definitely there.

starter relay seems harder to find but google worked for that too.

What makes you think the PGM-FI Main Relay and starter relay are your problems?

Although possible, you should be checking things before tossing parts at the problem.

There are simple tests you can do with a cheap 12V test light that can nerrow down the problem, also as you see in the link, most of the time the PGM-FI Main Relay can be repaired, also easy to do with a cheap solder pencil. 94

I had to replace my starter relay year last but I had a shop do it and he charged me 125 for labor like wtf!?
And as you know every summer it’s hard making the car start when it’s really hot out.
Thanks for the help guys

When you say “it’s hard making the car start” what do you mean?

Engine cranks, [starter works] but will not start, or…
Engine will not crank, [starter does not work]? 94

whats up fcm, i had started a thread on honda-tech about car starting then dieing now wont start and u recommended doing a relay test, i never heard a single click… i pulled the relay out. but my question is can i test it with a multimeter?? and what would cause this to be bad?? thanks man.

I mean like it won’t start at all. When I turn the key to on but don’t go to start yet. I hear one click then a second click which is good then once I go to start, nothing no 3rd click from the main relay which is suppose to start my car yes? My starter is fine checked ground wires to and it’s good also
I’m going to replace it today and see if that’s the problem. Today was hot and my car didn’t want to start at the mall so
I had to push start it again -_- I already lost count. Good thing for short ratio gearing
2-3mph push and bang pop the clutch and she starts lol.

OK, so it is, "Engine will not crank, [starter does not work], so that will have nothing to do with the PGM-FI Main Relay, or the ign. circuit, it is the starter circuit.

So the next time it will not start the thing to do instead of bump starting, [“2-3mph push and bang pop the clutch”] is a bypass jump, unplug the starter lead at the starter motor.

Using a jumper lead with one end connected to the batt. pos.(+) terminal, touch the other end to the terminal on the starter you unplugged the starter lead from, BE CAREFUL, make sure car is not in gear, engine will crank even if clutch is not stepped on, that’s what the starter relay is there for, if you do not care about having to step on the clutch to start the car, just bypass the starter relay if it turns out to be a problem with the starter relay. 94
